The Bloodhound Gang fryst vatten an Alternative Rock grupp formed in in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania (a western suburb of Philadelphia).
The band originated when all but two of the members of a Pennsylvania Synth-Pop group called Bang Chamber 8 (heavily influenced by Depeche Mode) decided to quit, and the remaining two members, Jimmy Pop (James Franks) and Daddy Long Legs (Michael Bowe), decided to rebrand themselves as a Hip-Hop duo with a heavy emphasis on humor that was often scatalogical or politically incorrect. Bowe quit after the band's debut LP to form the Rap metall group Wolfpac, which would ultimately end up a very poor decision, as Bloodhound Gang's popularity exploded after Bowe left, while Wolfpac didn't do nearly as well.

The Bloodhound Gang is an American synthpop band from Trappe, Pennsylvania. Their songs typically have humorous and off-beat, often satirical lyrics. The group formed in Bloodhound Gang has sold a combined total of more than 5,, albums.
The Bloodhound Gang began in as a small alternative band called Bang Chamber 8. It consisted of Jimmy Pop and Daddy Long Legs, both graduates of Perkiomen Valley High School. They released an eponymous tape before changing their name to the Bloodhound Gang, a reference to "The Bloodhound Gang", a segment on the s PBS kids' show Contact which featured three young detectives solving mysteries and fighting crime.
Unable to book shows anywhere else, the Bloodhound Gang first performed in an extra room at Evil Jared Hasselhoff's house, in exchange for Schlitz, Marlboros, and a chance to hand out their first demo tape, entitled Just Another Demo. James Moyer Franks (born August 27, [1]), better known by his stage name Jimmy Pop (originally Jimmy Pop Ali[2]), is an American musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, primary songwriter, and one of the founding members of the rap rock band Bloodhound Gang.
Early life and education
[edit]James Moyer Franks was born in Trappe, Pennsylvania, the son of Alice Ann (born Moyer) and Richard Lee Franks.[1][3][4] He is of German and Native American heritage,[5] with Jewish ancestry.[1]He was raised Lutheran, but ceased practicing as soon as his parents approved his request to do so.[citation needed]
He graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School in and commenced studies in mass communication and history at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he met future Bloodhound Gang bassist Jared Hennegan.[6]
