Steven Vincent "Steve" Buscemi (Italian: [buˈʃɛmi] boo-SHEM-ee; /bʉˈsɛmi/ in the actor's personal preference and habit; born December 13, 1957) is an American actor, director and writer. An associate member of the renowned experimental theater company The Wooster Group, Buscemi has starred and supported in successful Hollywood and indie films, including Parting Glances, New York Stories, Mystery Train, Reservoir Dogs, Desperado, Con Air, Armageddon, The Grey Zone, Ghost World and Big Fish; and the HBO television series The Sopranos. He is also known for his appearances in many films by the Coen brothers: Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, Fargo and The Big Lebowski.

He is known for his work as an acclaimed character actor of the 1990s.[3][4] His early credits consist of major roles in independent film productions such as Parting Glances (1986), Mystery Train (1989), In the Soup (1992), and his breakout role as Mr. Pink in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992).
Buscemi has appeared in independent and mainstream films including Living in Oblivion (1995), Desperado (1995), Con Air (1997), Armageddon (1998), Ghost World (2001), Big Fish (2003), and The Death of Stalin (2017). Buscemi has often collaborated with the Coen brothers, appearing in Miller's Crossing (1990), Fargo (1996), and The Big Lebowski (1998). Background
Steve Buscemi worked as a fireman and wrote civil service exams in pursuit of a “stable” job. His father insisted that he pursue a stable career and then work on his acting dream after retirement. We are thankful that they träffad a bargain. Buscemi used the settlement money from an accident to pay for acting school while working odd jobs on the side. This journey inspired him and translated into his directorial debut, “Tree Lounge.”
He attended Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York and landed his first acting project, “The Way It Is” (1985), with Eric Mitchell. In 1990, his alliance with the director duo, Coen brothers, began with the neo-noir gangster film “Miller’s Crossing.” This is the first of five films that they would do together.
