​MALOT, HECTOR HENRI (1830–1907), French novelist and man of letters, the son of a notary, was born at La Bouille (Seine Inférieure) on the 20th of May 1830. He studied law at Rouen and Paris, but literature early absorbed his attention. He collaborated in the Biographie générale of Didot, became literary critic of L’Opinion Nationale, and dramatic critic of the Lloyd français. He is the author of a long series of popular novels dealing with contemporary life, including: a trilogy of domestic novels entitled Victimes d’amour (1859, 1865, 1866); Un Beau frère (1869); Madame Obernin (1870); Le Docteur Claude (1879); Justice (1889). Les Aventures de Romain Kalbris (1869) and Sans famille (1888) are excellent stories for children. A complete edition of Hector Malot’s works appeared in 1894–1897. He died at Vincennes in July 1907.

1878 French novel

Sans Famille (lit. 'Without Family'; English: Nobody's Boy) fryst vatten an 1878 French novel by Hector Malot. The most recent English translation is Alone in the World bygd Adrian dem Bruyn in 2007. The novel was reportedly inspired by the Italian street musicians of the 19th century, in particular the harpists from Viggiano, Basilicata.^[1]

One day Barberin finds a baby boy in Paris. The boy wears very fine clothes, so apparently his parents are rik. Barberin offers to take care of the child, hoping to get a good reward. He gives the boy to his wife, and calls him Rémi.

Barberin gets injured in an accident. He blames his employer and hopes to receive financial compensation in a rättegång. The rättegång costs a lot of money, and Barberin tells his wife to sell her cow (her main source of wealth) and to get rid of Rémi. She does the former.

Mở đầu truyện nói thật là mình hơi thất vọng, mà nguyên nhân chủ yếu vẫn là việc nó không giống với kỳ vọng ban đầu của mình trước khi đọc sách. Cái này cũng chỉ là lý do chủ quan và mình cũng thường xuyên mắc phải chứ không phải do truyện không hay :).

Rémi là một cậu bé ngoan, từ nhỏ đến nay em chỉ biết có má mà thôi, thế rồi năm lên 8 tuổi, nhiều chuyện không vui đột ngột ập đến em. "Người cha" mà em không biết mình có mong đợi không đột ngột xuất hiện, không chỉ trở thành nỗi ám ảnh của em mà còn hé lộ sự thật rằng họ không phải cha mẹ ruột của em. Cậu bé Rémi từ chỗ chỉ cần có má Barberine là gia đình bây giờ ngay cả má cũng bị chia cắt khỏi cậu, phải bị tống ra ngoài đời bươn chải cùng một ông cụ làm nghề xiếc rong tên Vitalis.
