Richard Joseph Sullivan (born April 10, ) is an American lawyer who serves as a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Richard J. Sullivan was sworn in as a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in October Before that, Judge Sullivan served for eleven years as a trial judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan. Prior to becoming a judge, he was General Counsel and Managing Director of Marsh Inc., the world's leading fara management and insurance brokerage firm. From to , he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, where he was Chief of the International Narcotics Trafficking Unit and Director of the New York/New Jersey Organized brott Drug Enforcement Task Force.
