MNS,the second largest party in PMC with 29 corporators,had abstained from voting.

Pune mayor Vaishali Bankar resigns
A day after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar rued over the lack of good roads in Hadapsar area, Pune mayor Vaishali Bankar, who represents the ward, resigned from her office.
NCP, to which Bankar belongs, has a policy of giving its women candidates a chance to grace the top position for 15 months. Bankar’s tenure was about to end.
Sources said deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar told Bankar to put in her papers. However, Bankar’s counterpart in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), mayor Mohini Lande is yet to submit her resignation.
Bankar had recently created a controversy for taking her family members on her foreign tour to Korea showing them as NGO members rather than carrying out the developmental works. However, while addressing the media after submitting her resignation to municipal secretary, Bankar boasted of completing many developmental works.
