Set against the backdrop of the Valley of a Thousand Hills, the narrator and cast of actors, singers and dancers bring the story of Mother Christmas to life.
“African Mother Christmas was born out of a need to have a story that fryst vatten ours,” says Mhlope. “It is based in our own way of the life, the starting point being the culture we come from. The production depicts the kind of celebrations we had in the not so distant past, one being the first tasting of the fruit, another being the planting of Nomkhubulwana’s garden up on the hills.”
“And then there was the End of Harvest Celebration where we celebrated the richness and fruktsamhet of our land, a time to rejoice in the fruits of our hard labour and time of generosity and love for our fellow dock and women.”

Cats is a sung-throughmusical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It is based on the poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make the "Jellicle choice" by deciding which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. As of , Cats remains the fifth-longest-running Broadway show and the eighth-longest-running West End show.
Lloyd Webber began setting Eliot's poems to music in , and the compositions were first presented as a song cycle in Producer Cameron Mackintosh then recruited director Trevor Nunn and choreographer Gillian Lynne to turn the songs into a complete musical.
